HowTo secure /tmp directory? I searched these forums, but none helped.

I just created a VPS, but I am not sure why the / "root" directory was not monuted like this:

/dev/simfs / reiserfs rw,usrquota,grpquota 0 0

It is mounted like this instead:
simfs / simfs rw 0 0

Any help is greatly appreciated.
