heya, when making a os template can it only be made offo the base os that you have on the sever? i want to make other os templates.. like a trustix os template.. thanks Amy

Surely you can create your own OS templates, that is not that hard -- the basic idea is you install some packages in a chrooted environment and then create a tarball out of it. This tarball is to be put into /vz/template/cache and used during vzctl create stage.

So you have to create one, or find somebody who will create it, or wait when OpenVZ developers will create one (definitely not today).

how do i creat 1 with packages? do i just need the iso file or wat?

As I said above, you need to install all the packages you need in your VPS into a chrooted environment (use rpm --root for that) and then tar the resulting environment into a gzipped tarball.

so.. i was say get on the trustix website kernel apache php and such and put it all in a tar.gz?
