Hello!

I'm trying out OpenVZ and having problems setting up networking to work for my VEs. My current situation on the host is this:

br0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:50:BA:A3:17:XX
          inet addr:192.168.1.7 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0

eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:20:ED:4B:8B:XX
          inet addr:195.114.XX.XX Bcast:195.114.XX.YY Mask:255.255.255.192

eth2 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:50:BA:A3:17:XX

tap0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 8A:4E:5D:74:C7:XX

venet0 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00

(br0 and tap0 comes from me also using openvpn)

Now what I really want is for my VE to have a real physical address in 213.180.x.x subnet, but I can't access the network if I set it to that address, not even ping a machine that is in 213.180.x.x subnet sitting right next to the host. I also get a warning about address already being in use (although I know its free) but I read in previous threads I can ignore that.

The second option that would sort of work is if I could assign an address from the 195.114.x.x subnet (used by host), but for some reason the network doesn't work with that either.

The only configuration when it does work is if I use 192.168.1.x address (also used by host) but that is not an option for what I need the VEs for.

Host computer us Ubuntu Feisty (7.04) and VE is also (debootstrapped) Ubuntu Feisty (I followed this guide from wiki: http://wiki.openvz.org/Debian_template_creation)

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Edmunds
