*solved* vzmigrate arp issues? [message #16176] Sun, 26 August 2007 20:31 Go to next message

I was testing the vzmigrate function. After the migration the old HN could not reach the new VE location and I could not reach the VE remotely. The new HN had no problems. I then migrated the VE back and everything is happy.

I suspect an arp issue in the switch that connects both servers and the Internet. I don't have my own switch in place yet, so I can't do an arp flush. Does this sound familiar and is there a work around?

Thanks

I resolved the issue and thought I'd share.

The new HN was not configured correctly. I found the following:

# sysctl net.ipv4.ip_forward
net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1

check forwarding is set to 1

if it isn't...

#sysctl -w net.ipv4.ip_forward=1

I don't know how I missed that during setup...
