Dear Development Team,

I am running
kernel: 2.6.18-8.1.4.el5.028stab035.1
vzctl: 3.0.18
installed via yum on CentOS 4.5

I made the template from a fresh CentOS 5 hardware install.

We are trying to prepare a lab on networking for our Unix Administration class in University of California Riverside.

The assignment is to setup a network with 2 computers, where computer A will route all of it's outgoing packets to computer B, then computer B will forward the packets to the outside.

For that purpose I have a web interface where students can:
  1. Create their own VEs. When created each VE has:
      * One public IP (it shows up in vzlist)
      * The venet0 network interface
  2. Get extra IPs (vzctl set VEID --ipadd 192.168.1.X)
  3. Get extra Network Interfaces (vzctl set VEID --netif_add eth0)

The student then supposed to move the extra IP from venet0:1 to eth0.

It has been several attempts now.
We are failing get two VEs to communicate to each other via their eth0's

Can anyone help?

Alex Levchuk
