Hi all,

I am glad to announce version 1.0 of vzdump. vzdump is an utility to make
consistent snapshots of running OpenVZ VEs. It basically creates a tar
archive of the VE private area, which also includes the VE configuration
files.

Vzdump 1.0 is now available for download:

http://www.proxmox.com/cms_proxmox/en/virtualization/openvz/ vzdump/

or

http://download.openvz.org/contrib/utils/vzdump/

New Features:

- vzdump --mailto: generate nice text/html mails with
additional status info's
- allow multiple receivers (multiple --mailto options)
- new --exclude option to exclude some VEs
- new --exclude-path option, use 'find' to avoid tar
sockets warnings, try to skip all log files by default
- better log format includes time

An installation Howto is also available:

http://wiki.openvz.org/Backup_of_a_running_VE_with_vzdump

Upgrade and enjoy!

- Dietmar
