Hi All,

I was curious to know if OVZ can co-exist with VMware Server installed on same Hardware Node? So, If I already have VMware Server running can I then install OVZ with out any problem.

Well, as far as I remember while installing VMware Server you run vmware-config.pl. It compiles VMware kernel modules against running kernel. Consequently after installing OpenVZ kernel you should rerun this script in order to rebuild VMware kernel modules against OpenVZ kernel. Then it should work.

HTH,
Vasily.

Vasily, thanks for your response! It's good to know it can be done. It's not something I'm looking to do in a production environment. Just wanted to see about using VMware Server & OVZ on the same server box - as a test server.
