Hello everybody. I'm a sysadm and have always used xen/qemu/virtualbox/vmware server for my VMs and my customer's ones. Yesterday I decided to give OpenVZ a try and... I'm amazed. It's fast, easy and reliable.
Live migration works like a charm and the use of rsync assures low data transfers. Great.
Next step: transfer my home/work servers on OpenVZ env. Why? Well, they're on Via EPIAs (for several reasons) and, during the day, they can be overloaded. I have always a good desktop turned on low-loaded so the nice thing would be to migrate the server to my desktop and remigrate to the epia in the evening (or when needed).
I think it's easy to accomplish but I have one problem: I cannot make bridging between wlan0 and veth102.0 work.
I create a bridge, add both the interfaces:
wlan0 ip: 0.0.0.0
veth102.0 ip: 0.0.0.0
br0 ip: 192.168.5.2
VE's eth0 ip: 192.168.5.99
gateway's ip: 192.168.5.254
From the HM I can ping and use the net (the traffic gets out from the br0) but from the VE I can just ping the 192.168.5.2.
Some time ago I read there were some troubles in bridging a station wireless card and another interface but VMWare does it without troubles and so I think I'm missing something.
Any advice? Thank you really, really much.
