Member
Using one of the provided VPS templates, how does one add support for GCC? I've needed it many times, but have had no luck installing it. Is there some simple thing that I am overlooking?

Use the following command:

vzyum VPSID install gcc


where VPSID is, naturally, your VPS ID. You might also want installing some other development stuff, like autoconf, automake, libtool, gcc-c++, bison and so on.

Another option (which is in effect the same thing) that empowers users at the VPS level to do some of this is:

On the HN (Hardware Node):
vzyum VPSID install yum


On the VPS:
yum install gcc
