Hi,

What is the difference between the normal migration and the --online migration?

Yes I've read the man page, but it is not very explicit:

Perform online (zero-downtime) migration: during the migration
the VE hangs for a while and after the migration it continues
working as though nothing has happened.

What does that mean? What actions are made with the --online option that are not done without? arpsend? restart VE on the destination host?

Please read the manual before asking questions:

If you perform offline migration, the VE will be stopped (vzctl stop <veid>) before migration. But if you use online migration - VE doesn't stop.

HTH,
Vasily.
