Hi,

i have a problem logging ('via vzctl enter ...') into a vm after I upgraded the kernel.

The Original Kernel was: 2.6.9-openvz-023.037

The new one is: 2.6.18-openvz-028.027

I think all kernel parameters are the same for both setups.

Does anyone have an idea how to narrow this problem? Or any other ideas? The openVZ logging Parameter is set to 999:

## Logging parameters
LOGGING=yes
LOGFILE=/var/log/vzctl.log
LOG_LEVEL=999

Of course, there are not hints inside this logfile.

Kind Regards,
Christian

what happens when you "vzctl enter xxxx", is there an error message? Tell us the specifics about the problem rather then only mentioning that one exists.

the onyly message is: enter failed

And there is no information in the logfile. The first help could be a way how to get more information out of openvz Smile

Yes i read it but the following line makes me assuming that it does not fit...:

<... fstat64 resumed> {st_mode=S_IFCHR|0620, st_rdev=makedev(136, 0), ...}) = 0

Edit:
I tried to copy the /dev folder from a working vm into this not working vm, but it does not help...

Very probably udev/sysfs is running in VE, so listing /vz/private/VEID/dev can not help to sched light on the problem. Please, start the VE, then do `ls -l /vz/root/VEID/dev` and send the output to us.

Thanks,
Vasily.
