Hello !

Is there a way to make accessible a usb dongle (not removable drive) inside a VE?

I searched the forums but the only information i found was related to making the device in the /dev directory available via devnodes parameter. The only problem is that i don't have any /dev entries for that device.

The usb device is a hasp alladin dongle that must offer licensing to several clients but it must be available to the ve that i'm using to share the application on the network.

The dongle is detected by the HN and is present in /proc/bus/usb devices.

Please help me, i need this to work since i made all the setup using openvz and now i can't back out of it.

Hello,

As far as I understand, being on usual HN with such usb dongle, you use some user-space tools, that check the presence of the dongle (and probably some certain information on it) and if it exists - the tools start to work. Otherwise their don't work, right?

If so, then we should now how this user-space tools check for presence of the dongle... E.g. you can use `strace` for investigating it.

Vasily.
