Hi,

I have created a minimal template cache from Slackware 10.2.

You can download it from http://homaly.dunanet.hu/wvz/slackware/
It's just 27 megs.

For the OpenVZ dev guys:
Because the current hosting site has limited bandwidth, I would be greatful if you could serve this file from openvz.org (http://openvz.org/download/template/cache/ i guess).

Creating it was easy, I just copied a running host's root directory into a private area then followed kir's howto on debian template cache creation.

Thanks a lot for your contribution! I have put your template to http://download.openvz.org/contrib/template/precreated/, so you can refer to this location from your site to save the traffic.

I have renamed the template to slackware-10.2-i386-minimal to better suit our naming conventions. I think it should work with vzctl, since there is a generic slackware.conf in /etc/sysconfig/vz-scripts/dists/ directory. If it is not working, please file a bug to vzctl.

Thank you for saving my friends bandwidth Smile

You are right Kir, the template works renamed too.

1 more thing: slackware is compiled for i486 i think, at least the packages are named *i486 on the install cd, so the precreated cache file should be named after this.

I hope it's useful, correct the errors in it if You reproduce the slacky cache..

Hi!

I have updated the template, making 2 changes:
- Fixed a bug reported by Disaster (Stefan), which made a bad gateway in rc.inet1
http://forum.openvz.org/index.php?t=rview&goto=9969#msg_ 9969
- Updated rc.S, mounting devpts at boottime, so kernel 2.6.20 can "vzctl enter" into the VPS

The new template can be downloaded at http://homaly.dunanet.hu/openvz-slackware/

Kir/OpenVZ guys:
Could you please mirror this file again/update it in the mirror? Thank You Smile

Im also planning to do a v11 Precreated in the near future.

And YES!
I made the same bug as in 10.2 again, leaving udevd running, and not adding the /dev/pts mount by hand. This of course wont work in a VE, for example you cant use ssh from inside... Evil or Very Mad
Sorry guys, I think im kinda hot-headed these times, not making enough field tests before releasing.
I shall update the Slackware-HowTo Wiki and add these too.

Kir, can I ask for a re-mirror? Please Embarassed

Hi!

Slackware 12.0 i386 minimal template ready.
Can be downloaded at: http://homaly.dunanet.hu/openvz-slackware/

This time I looked out for Udevd and DEVpts, and also preinstalled some more packages (like ftp and telnet which weren't in the previous minimals Smile )

Kir, can you please mirror this?
