Does anyone have a list of packages needed to compile.

I've got a general list that installs gcc, gcc-c++, various header libs, etc. but I'm still missing a few pieces - probably a devel library but I do not know which one.

Is there a general list for redhat enterprise? or a ve template with those packages already installed?

Well, it depends on soft you're compiling: different soft require different libraries/headers. Post here the real command that fails and its output an we'll help you.

As concerns precreated templates. AFAIK there is no rhel/centOS precreated templates at openvz.org with gcc and friends installed.
