Hello everyone,

When building the RHEL5 kernel (from ovzkernel-2.6.18-8.el5.028stab027.1.src.rpm) with XEN-Compatible subarchticture, it fails with this error...

CC arch/i386/kernel/process-xen.o
arch/i386/kernel/process-xen.c: In function `show_regs':
arch/i386/kernel/process-xen.c:213: error: `system_utsname' undeclared (first use in this function)
arch/i386/kernel/process-xen.c:213: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
arch/i386/kernel/process-xen.c:213: error: for each function it appears in.)
make[1]: *** [arch/i386/kernel/process-xen.o] Error 1
make: *** [arch/i386/kernel] Error 2

Any clues or workarounds available for this??
Thanks in advance

Hello,

why do you need that? Do you want to have the support of OpenVZ and XEN technology on the same kernel?

Thanks,
Vasily.

Yessss, This would add up full virtualization (with supported CPU) along with the great performance from OpenVZ for linux-based OS...
Thanks

It should be possible, but at the moment, as you see, there are some problems with compilations. We'll try to fix it soon. If you want, you can fill a bug to remind us about it and be informed about the progress.

Thanks,
Vasily.

Thanks,
I've already filed a bug late yesterday, and I was looking for a known workaround, but seems not...

Thanks for your reply, and awaiting for the fix...
