UPDATE: This was a weird Firewall-Issue on my HN!
My Thanks go to Vasily for pointing that out to me! Smile
-----

Hello everybody!

I have a problem with my OpenVZ-Installation under CentOS 4.4:
I have installed CentOS 4.4 Server-CD with minimal packages,
then installed OpenVZ and rebooted with OpenVZ-Kernel (2.6.9-023stab040.1)

I have then installed a new VPS.

HOST-IP: 80.190.1xx.220
VPS-IP: 80.190.1xx.221
GW: 80.190.1xx.1
DNS: 212.123.96.110

I can successfully connect via SSH from WAN into the VPS and also ping from WAN to VPS.
I can also ping from VPS into WAN but the nameserver-resolution is not working Sad
The DNS-Resolution on the host is working perfectly.

Can anybody help me here?
I have already tried everything I know and read the whole wiki...

Thanks in advance a lot for all of your help Smile

Best regards,

Chris

You need to run the --nameserver option on the ve.

Try pinging an IP address instead of a domain name. Try yahoo.com at 216.109.112.135). If you can ping an IP, but not a domain name, it is a dns issue for sure.

Hello,

can you give me an access to your node? If yes, you can post login information via PM (Private Message). If no, answer here, and we'll try to help you remotely, but it defenetely will take more time.

Thanks,
Vasily.

It actually wa a firewall issue... iptables didn't let the dn queries out into the WAN for some reason... so that's working now Smile sorry for not reporting back earlier...

best regards,
Chris

I am not sure as I disabled the FW and activated an external FW "in front" of the VPS Wink
