Hi,

I'd like to know if this would hurt anything:

- Do a --suspend of VEID
- Do a --dump of VEID
- Do a tar of private area of VEID
- Do a --resume of VEID

Let's say I forgot to add one line in /etc/hosts in the VEID, can I open my tarball, edit the file, then re-tar it and it would still be possible to restore it w/o problem?

Regards,

Ugo

Well, the answer on your question is: yes, it can hurt.

But if you are sure that at the moment when you have done suspend of VE this file (/etc/hosts) was not opened by some process inside VE, then you can change this file.

But I want to warn you that such changes of fs can easily break restoring of VE and it would be better to not touch this tarball at all.
