Hi,

Ive just started to use OpenVZ and it totally rocks but one thing I would really like is to be able to add a decription to each VE - such that a vzlist might look like this

# vzlist
VEID NPROC STATUS IP_ADDR HOSTNAME DESCRIPTION
	101 13 running 172.30.60.101 server101 Mediawiki box
	102 6 running 172.30.60.102 server102 Zenoss Network monitor
	103 13 running 172.30.60.103 server103 Webserver Dev box
	105 3 running 172.30.60.105 server105 Asterisk

How do I ask for it as a feature request? Or did I just do it Razz

vzctl set <veid> --name something

that would come close to your request, only problem is that --name only accepts one word as a parameter

Well that sets the hostname but doenst allow a short description - I *think* it shouldnt be too hard to code. The description itself can be kept in the VEs confog file and VZLIST would have to be changed a little to read each config file

I think it would be really helpfull

no, --hostname sets the hostname
--name sets another variable Smile the name shows up when you do 'vzlist -n'

I agree though, a description setting would be nice too
