*SOLVED* dns resolving problem [message #10074]

I'm a new openvz user
on new hardware box installation went smoothly
dns is resolving perfect
however in a new added child VZ even with the nameservers added via commandline or manually edited in VZ in resolv.conf DNS is not working properly so wget , yum etc isn't working
Is there somewhere a solution or can somebody help to solve this?

Hi!

What error are you received ?, timeout ?

Do you use any firewall ?

Try to send us more information about the VZ are you using, like kernel, template..etc..

I'm sorry
should have looked earlier and verified firewall
the default firewall was enabled, disabled it and all worked like smootly

First, verify that internet connectivity can be established from inside the VE. To do this, ping 69.64.46.7 from inside your VE. If this does not work, the problem is not DNS related.

If you can ping 69.64.46.7 from inside the VE, can you ping your nameservers from the HN?
